Audrey Talbert

I'm Audrey Talbert, and I never thought I'd be part of the 1%. Now, I understand that the real one percent is that one lost sheep which Jesus left the 99 to chase after. A daughter of the King and a mom first, I share about faith, restoration and building a business for anyone who's been counted out.

Story

I'm Audrey Talbert. I'm in recovery, and I'm a felon. I've been incarcerated, and for a long time those were the only two things people saw when they looked at me.

Faith met me in the middle of that season. Not as some tidy ending, but as the reason I kept going. I don't believe people should be defined by their worst chapter, and I don't believe grace runs out.

I'm a daughter of the King, and a mom first. Everything else, the businesses I build, the advocacy I do, the writing I share, comes from wanting my kids, and anyone else who's been counted out, to know there's still a way forward.

Advocacy

I've seen children in my life go through hard things with no one in their corner advocating for them, and it changed what I believe school and community are supposed to do. Access changes everything, whether you're four years old or forty, whether what's standing in your way is adversity you didn't choose or a felony record you can't shake.

Early Childhood Education

As a Parent Advocate for the Arizona Head Start Association and a Changemaker for the Children's Action Alliance, I work directly with the Arizona Legislature, pushing for equitable access to preschool and daycare. Closer to home, I'm a parent representative on the Policy Council at Child-Parent Centers, my local Head Start provider serving families and students across Southeastern Arizona. One seat's at the state level, the other's in my own backyard, but both are about making sure a parent's voice is in the room, not just a bureaucrat's.

A Seat at the Table

S.E.A.T. · Start. Earn. Advance. Turn it up.

Where you've been absolutely will determine where you're going, but it doesn't have to limit you. None of that has to be someone's whole story, whether the barrier is a criminal record, addiction, domestic violence, or homelessness. Everyone deserves a seat at the table when they're ready to build something new. SEAT is how I'm building that out, bringing entrepreneurship education to people other systems already gave up on.
